Landoria game mode

Normal

Beyond the mist, an open Landoria world offers a public and cooperative way to experience Valheim. Anyone can join, meet other Vikings, and follow the original survival journey, while server protections keep progression, homes, and lost equipment safe.

01

The original journey, shared

  • Progression, survival, resources, exploration, and combat retain Valheim's original balance: gather, craft equipment, build shelters, sail, survive, and defeat the Forsaken.
  • Discover every biome and defeat the Forsaken, build settlements, or set your own goals at Valheim's original pace.
  • The Normal game mode is cooperative: PvP is disabled by default and can occur only when both players explicitly choose it.

Server-protected characters

  • Create a new character dedicated to Landoria the first time you join. Characters brought from private or external worlds cannot enter.
  • The server stores the Landoria character profile and inventory, preventing outside item imports, local restores, and duplication.
  • The same character and protected progression can move between Landoria « Normal » worlds, letting you explore new lands without restarting what you earned in this mode.

Adventure as a group

  • Gather up to five players in a group for an expedition, a boss fight, or a building project, with a private chat for the whole session.
  • Group members share map pings and real-time positions with one another, while your position stays hidden from everyone outside the group on the public map.

The Landoria experience

Familiar survival, built for public, cooperative, and protected worlds

The Normal game mode puts cooperation first, bringing Vikings together to explore, build, survive, and progress through Valheim.

  • Powerful wards protect your base: An active ward blocks unauthorized access and protects structures in its area from damage caused by unauthorized players.
  • A world that waits for you: rain wear and fuel use pause for your creations while you are offline, ready for your return.
  • Sealed tombstones: equipment cannot be stolen; a connected owner may explicitly authorize a trusted Viking to recover it.
  • Same rules for everyone: every connection is checked for the required and permitted mods. Server-side characters prevent imported items and restored inventories, so every player gathers and progresses under the same rules.
  • Player-based raids: raids follow individual progression instead of the world's most advanced progress, preventing new Vikings from facing late-game events because of another player's achievements.
  • From one world to another: To enter Normal worlds, you first create a new character dedicated to this game mode. A new Normal world is created every month, giving players fresh lands and resources to explore. You can move from one Normal world to another with the same character, keeping your equipment, skills, and progress.
  • Expanded server capacity: each server is configured to support at least 20 simultaneous players.
